The American Country Awards is a newly-created country music awards show,  entirely voted on by fans. Created by the Fox Network, the awards honor country  music artists in music, video, and touring categories. In  addition to the CMA Awards, the ACM  Awards, and the CMT Music Awards, it is the fourth  major-awards show completely dedicated to the country music industry. The first  ceremony is scheduled to take place at The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas,  Nevada on Monday, December 6, 2010.
Nominees for the inaugural awards show were announced on Monday October 18,  2010. Lady Antebellum and  Easton Corbin are in the lead with seven nominations apiece, followed by Carrie  Underwood with six nominations, and Miranda Lambert and Josh Turner with  five. Voting  continues through November 8, except artist of the year; which closes on  December 4.
On November 15th, the initial list of performers for the show has been  released and includes Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, and many more acts. It was also  announced that an additional list of performers would be announced in the coming  weeks.
Carrie  Underwood won all 6 of her awards, becoming the first-ever Artist of the  Year on December 6, 2010.
